Abstract
This paper examines the critical issue of employee well-being within the high-pressure investment management industry, drawing on positive psychology research to develop evidence-based interventions. Using "Flourish Capital," a pseudonymous investment management firm managing $50 billion in assets, as a case study, the research analyzes employee survey data from 2016 to 2022, which revealed significant challenges, including eroded leadership trust, weakened value alignment, unclear career pathways, and inadequate management development. The paper proposes a comprehensive framework of interventions targeting three interconnected areas: High-Quality Connections (HQCs), Meaning and Purpose through Values Alignment, and Career Development through Leveraging Strengths. These interventions operate across organizational, team, and individual levels, utilizing the PERMA model (Positive emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Accomplishment) as a theoretical foundation. The research demonstrates how targeted well-being initiatives can create competitive advantages through enhanced employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
