Abstract
Shenoutes literary endeavors made him the only outstanding native writer of the Coptic language. Notwithstanding his importance as a Coptic author, Shenoute has received scant attention in grammatical treatments of the Coptic language. It is this fact which prompted the present writer to undertake a thorough statistical study of Shenoute's writings. Without this basic investigation it will not be possible to conduct an exhaustive grammatical examination of Coptic.
