Abstract

The Pre/opositions Lab aims to discuss architectural theory in the context of modern problems like climate change and social inequality. The team has interviewed a section of architects, designers, and architectural theorists to answer this question by selecting a PREPOSITION that most connects with them. The interviewees choose a preposition to take a stance on the current state of architecture and its place in the modern world, thereby creating new narratives and conversations. With weekly meetings with the Pre/opositions Lab team and the careful observation of the interviews while video editing, we learned and discussed theoretical concepts from the seasoned interviewees. The interviews deepened our understanding of modern factors that concern and impact architecture. It allowed us to question how environmental, social, and political factors can affect architecture and the future of architecture.
