Abstract

Dimensional reasoning is a general-purpose tool to organize physical ideas, catch clerical errors, and even generate physical hypotheses. Although physicists give it a lot of lip service, few university students appear comfortable with it even after a full year of introductory Physics. The presentation outlines high points of dimensional reasoning, starting at high school level and moving up from there.
