Public Opinion, Perception & Anti-Muslim Sentiment
While anti-Muslim racism has a long history in the United States, research shows negative opinions of Muslims, Arabs, and those perceived to be Muslim have skyrocketed over the last twenty years. The modules here examine where these opinions and perceptions come from and how they seep through everything, from individual daily interactions to public policy that affects many. Through these modules, students will understand the ways in which Islamophobia affects society in both visible, invisible, and structural ways
