Abstract

Closing out this first week of background and practice with more of the technical ideas. We're going to introduce the, in some sense, the most important property of dynamical systems that makes them so amenable to use not just in describing the behavior of mechanical robot systems, but in trying to prescribe that behavior. We're going to introduce the notion of Lyapunov functions, which generalizes physical energy.
