Abstract

We live in a world that is focused on happiness as an outcome and as something that comes from outside of ourselves, leaving masses of individuals unhappy and unfulfilled. Positive psychology is the study of unearthing and cultivating what is within us and translating it in a meaningful way to the world around us. The heart of this science is a return to cultivating a way of being. Through a literature review of the positive psychology research, this capstone will explore the ways that happiness can be cultivated from within, translated to one’s life, and inspire a positive impact on the world.
