About the Symposium

 

The annual Ivies Plus Access Services Symposium provides an opportunity for access services professionals from large research libraries to share experiences, insights, and best practices with each other.

When: June 9 - 10, 2016

Host: University of Pennsylvania, Van Pelt Library, Philadelphia, PA

Through this Symposium we strive to:

  • Exchange information about the services and initiatives our organizations are undertaking or planning for the near term
  • Explore challenges and opportunities for Access Services
  • Discuss solutions that may benefit other organizations

    The University of Pennsylvania's first library building was designed by Frank Furness. It is now the home of the Fisher Fine Arts Library and an array of architectural studios. The building was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1972 and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1985.

The material collections housed at the Kislak Center include more than 350,000 books and 15,000 linear feet of manuscripts in a wide range of disciplines and formats, from medieval manuscripts to twenty-first century artists' books.
