Abstract

Regulatory loopholes allow disposable e-cigarettes to remain widely available, allowing for companies to attract consumers especially youth and young adults who have never smoked cigarettes. Short-term effects show clear health risks from vaping, and although studies on long-term effects are growing, their impact is still not fully understood. Future studies are warranted to evaluate the long-term effects of using these new and emerging e-cigarette devices, in order to inform FDA regulation so as to protect public health.
