Abstract

This project focuses on the binding tendencies of his-GFP to lipid structures of varying curvature in order to observe the protein’s role in membrane curvature formation. Membrane curvature forms in impotant biological processes such as endocytosis and exocytosis. HisGFP does not naturally occur in humans, but it serves as a model for how to study peripheral membrane proteins’ membrane curvature sensitivity.
