Medical Cyber-Physical Systems (MCPS) are complex, safety-critical, intelligent systems of interconnected medical devices. An MCPS brings together monitoring devices, such as heart-rate monitors, and delivery devices, such as medication infusion pumps. By coordinating the operation of the system based on data supplied by monitoring devices, the MCPS can provide more intelligent information to the caregiver, detect failures of individual devices, and in general improve patient safety and treatment effectiveness.
