Business Plan Competition Venture Finals

The Wharton Business Plan Competition (WBPC) was among the leading global university-run business plan competitions. The WBPC was launched in 1998 by the Wharton Entrepreneurship Club and became part of Wharton Entrepreneurship, which co-managed the competition with a specially selected student committee.

During its 19th year (2016-2017), the WPBC was reimagined as The Penn Wharton Entrepreneurship (now Venture Lab) Startup Challenge, sponsored by Eric Aroesty, C’92. The Startup Challenge is a competition for Penn student-founded new ventures, culminating in the Startup Showcase, Venture Lab’s flagship event, where the very best Penn student entrepreneurs pitch to a live audience and alumni judges to show their startups are ready to become the next big thing.
