Description

Since August 2014, the Penn Shelley Seminars have brought people together each week to discuss the life, works and legacy of Percy Shelley. Faculty from many different departments within Penn join together with many visiting poets and academics, as well as interested members of the general public. Together we form a unique and passionate community of scholarship, open to all.

During Fall term, we held 22 seminars focusing on Prometheus Unbound. Seminars were held at Lea Library and in adjoining seminar rooms in Van Pelt Library. During the Spring term, seminar topics will focus on a wide array of Shelley's other works, his relationship with his wife Mary Shelley, and his literary, philosophical and political legacy. Seminars are hosted by Eric Alan Weinstein.
