Abstract

These tables were prepared in conjunction with a study of the growth of large cities and their surrounding areas being conducted by the Population Studies Center of the University of Pennsylvania. A major emphasis of the study will be the role played by migration in effecting changes in population composition and, to this end, we are interested in securing estimates of numbers of migrants by age, sex, and color. We plan to useĀ· several measures of migration, among them that of net intercensal migration as indicated by the Census Survival Ratio method.
