Jonathan S. C. Riley-Smith is the most distinguished historian of the Crusades in the Anglophone world. He has published fifteen books and hundreds of scholarly articles on all aspects of Crusades history. Riley-Smith is Dixie Professor of Ecclesiastical History Emeritus at the University of Cambridge.
